The Turning World: Magic, Meaning, and The Wheel of the Year

The earth does not move in a straight line. It turns — and as it turns, the quality of energy available to a practitioner shifts in ways that are subtle, dramatic, predictable, and endlessly surprising. The Wheel of the Year is the map of that turning: eight points in the annual cycle where the veil thins, the energy peaks, the balance tips, or the darkness deepens, each one a doorway into a distinct quality of magical time.

This is not a course about religious holidays. It is a course about learning to move with the earth rather than across it.

We'll work through all eight seasonal turning points — the solstices, the equinoxes, and the four cross-quarter days that fall between them — not as historical curiosities or inherited celebrations but as living, energetically distinct moments that offer specific magical opportunities you cannot find at any other point in the year. For each one we'll cover the energetic quality of the moment, the traditional practices and their underlying logic, how to mark the turning in a way that is meaningful to your specific practice, and the spells and workings that are uniquely suited to each point on the wheel.

We'll also address the elephant in the room: most of us don't live agrarian lives synchronized with the land. We'll work through how to connect with the wheel honestly and deeply regardless of where you live and how disconnected from seasonal rhythms your daily life may feel.

By the end of this course, you will have a working relationship with the Wheel of the Year that is yours — not borrowed from a book, not performed out of obligation, but rooted in genuine understanding of why these eight points exist and what each one actually offers.
