Bones and Breath: Creating Custom Rituals for Samhain 10/11/26
*A seasonal application course | Part of the Bones and Breath series*
Samhain is the night the veil thins — the moment when the wheel tips fully into darkness and the boundary between worlds becomes permeable. Of all the sabbats, this one carries the most weight.
Samhain is the witch's new year as much as it is a night of the dead — the death of the old cycle before the seed goes into the dark — so we'll work through how to hold both the backward-facing work this sabbat is known for *and* the forward-facing work of intention at the threshold. The night holds both. Your ritual can too.
Whatever your Samhain practice centers — ancestor work, shadow work, divination, release, transition, protection, or simply a deliberate marking of the new year — the night amplifies what you bring to it.
In this course, you'll apply the structural and craft skills from *Bones and Breath: Create Custom Rituals* to the specific demands of Samhain — building ceremony that engages the energetic reality of this sabbat. We'll work through what makes Samhain distinct, how to identify what *your* practice most needs at this turn of the wheel, and how to build ritual that is specific to your tradition, your intent, and your year.
From there, you'll move through the full build: selecting tools, correspondences, and sensory anchors that carry genuine Samhain resonance; crafting words and silences capable of holding threshold space; structuring a working to contain whatever your Samhain practice requires; and closing in a way that honors the weight of what was opened before stepping back into ordinary time.
By the end, you'll have a complete, original Samhain ritual built to your tradition, your practice, and your purpose.
