Rules to Live By: Creating Your Own Witch’s Rede

This course is a 120-minute workshop in magical ethics for witches whose path sits outside Wicca — secular practitioners, eclectic witches, chaos magicians, and anyone who has ever felt that discomfort of borrowed rules that don't align with your ethics or support your practice. This course doesn't hand you a code of conduct. It helps you build your own, from the inside out.

We begin by examining the Wiccan Rede honestly — what it was designed to do, why it resonates for so many, and why it falls short for others. Not as critique, but as context. Understanding why a framework doesn't fit you is the first step toward designing one that does.

From there the work gets serious. You'll explore the critical distinction between magical intent and magical impact — because a positive intention does not immunize you against unintended consequences, and a sophisticated practitioner knows the difference. You'll wade into Karmic Neutrality: theories of energetic cause-and-effect, how balance actually functions in magical systems that operate outside religious frameworks, and what role you as the practitioner actively play in shaping that balance. You'll dissect difficult real-world scenarios, challenge your own assumptions and biases, and sit with the uncomfortable questions that most introductory witchcraft courses quietly skip.

The course culminates in the work it was always building toward: the creation of your own Witch's Rede. Not a list of rules imposed from outside, but a sovereign ethical compass synthesized from your own values, your own magical philosophy, and your own hard-won understanding of consequence. Clear, internalized, and entirely yours.

By the end of this course, you will understand why magical ethics cannot be outsourced to a borrowed framework — and have the tools to build your own. You'll be able to articulate the difference between intent and impact, navigate concepts of karmic neutrality and energetic consequence from a non-religious perspective, and apply a sophisticated ethical lens to complex magical scenarios. Most importantly, you'll leave with a completed personal Witch's Rede: a living document of magical sovereignty that reflects your values and guides your practice.
