No Crystal Ball Required: Introduction to Divination
Divination is not about predicting the future — it's about learning to listen. To the symbols that surface when you shuffle a deck, the shapes that form in still water, the weight of a pendulum finding its answer. These are languages, and this course begins your exploration into learning to read them.
This class a foundational survey of five of the most enduring divination traditions, designed for complete beginners and curious seekers alike. You'll learn the story and structure of the tarot — its 78 cards, two great divisions, and the art of reading spreads with confidence. You'll carve meaning from the Elder Futhark runes, understanding each stave as both symbol and story. You'll discover how oracle cards differ from tarot and how to choose and bond with a deck that speaks your language. You'll practice the quiet, receptive art of scrying — with mirrors, water, and flame — learning to trust what you see in the in-between. And you'll work with the pendulum, developing a personal yes/no vocabulary and understanding how to frame questions that yield clear, useful answers.
By the end of this class, you will have hands on experience with different tools, a vocabulary to describe your experiences, a plan to develop a divination practice and the confidence to develop your own intuitive voice.
